8 – The Cosmic War

Since the dawn of time, this world seen a constant stream of tyrants all vying for power and glory, all mercilessly killing each other for the chance to be king. But these people are all just shadows of their real king, the lord and master over all tyrants.

The real battle is much bigger than this world. The Christian Bible states, “For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

The presiding master of evil is known by many names. Iblis, Satan, Lucifer, the devil. And he is the father of lies. One of his most common monikers, “the Prince of Darkness,” curiously insinuates that he is a prince rather than a king. Perhaps, this is a veiled reference to his father. Before there was Iblis there was Simbas. As evil as we know Iblis to be, he is nothing compared to Simbas, who was even more wicked and impure. And evil knows no morality. Iblis killed his own father and ascended the throne as the king of evil. In this world, Simbas is long forgotten but then again Simbas was not originally from this world.
